eSailingCup – Al via il Cagliari Trophy 2023
Il Cagliari Trophy è un evento velico unico nel suo genere che unisce le regate virtuali a quelle reali: ci si sfida online con l’app eSailing Cup nel mare davanti a Cagliari, dove tutta la costa e la città sono ricostruite in 3D, e i finalisti si dovranno poi confrontare in mare a Cagliari, nello stesso campo di regata, dove saranno ospiti dell’AVAS, l’associazione Armatori vela d’Altura Sardegna, che li inserirà nell’equipaggio di 10 barche a vela e offrirà loro anche l’alloggio in città.
L’app è gratuita e disponibile per Android e Apple, ci si registra e quindi ci si iscrive nella sezione Trofei: dal 19 giugno fino al 16 luglio bisognerà sfidare (e vincere!) il maggior numero di avversari per guadagnare punti. I primi 10 in classifica saranno i finalisti che svolgeranno la prova reale a Cagliari domenica 29 ottobre.
Per giocare con l’eSailing Cup non occorre avere esperienza di vela, basta allenarsi e prenderci la mano: si deve solo regolare con il pollice sinistro la scotta della vela, e con il destro il timone; in alto compare la velocità a cui si va, la propria posizione, quella dell’avversario, la velocità e la direzione del vento. Ogni sfida prevede 3 tre prove, chi ne vince di più vince la regata e guadagna punti.

The Cagliari Trophy is a unique sailing event that combines virtual and real regattas: competitors challenge each other online using the eSailing Cup app on the sea in front of Cagliari, where the entire coast and city are recreated in 3D, and the finalists then have to compete at sea in Cagliari, on the same racecourse, where they will be guests of AVAS, the Association of Offshore Sailing Shipowners of Sardinia, who will include them in the crew of 10 sailboats and will also offer them accommodation in the city.
The app is free and available for Android and Apple, you register and then sign up in the Trophies section: from June 19th to July 16th, you will have to challenge (and win!) the highest number of opponents to earn points. The top 10 in the ranking will be the finalists who will carry out the real test in Cagliari on Sunday, October 29th.
To play with the eSailing Cup, you do not need to have sailing experience, just practice and get the hang of it: you just have to adjust the sail sheet with your left thumb, and the rudder with your right; at the top appears your speed, your position, your opponent’s position, the wind speed, and direction. Each challenge includes 3 trials, whoever wins the most wins the regatta and earns points.
